Dit was helemaal nieuw voor mij. Wel een hele mooie uitleg, maar ik vroeg me af of het in het Hebreeuws ook om de letter 'h' zou gaan bij deze namen, of dat dit een taalspelletje was van de auteur.

Daar blijkt dat het inderdaad om de Hebreeuwse letter 'hee' gaat die toegevoegd wordt, bij Abram wordt vermeld dat de adem van God in de naam Abraham gekomen is.
Dus w.b Abram wel een uitleg in dezelfde lijn.
Hebben jullie deze uitleg wel eens gehoord?

Nee, nooit van gehoord. Hoog onzin gehalte. Heeft niks met de hebreeuwse taal en joodse cultuur/religie te maken.

Over de uitleg van de namen weet ik niet zoveel. Deze uitleg komt me wat gezocht over.

Taalkundig begrijp ik ook eigenlijk zijn punt niet zo goed. Hij schrijft:

Het gaat hier echter om verschillende letters. Terwijl de "h" (hee) wordt toegevoegd in de namen, eindigt ruach op een cheth (vergelijkbaar met onze ch-klank). Ik weet niet waar hij op doelt als hij beweert dat de h-klank in de uitspraak wordt benadrukt.

Abram (Av Ram) betekent: verheven vader
Abraham (Av Raham) betekent: vader van veel volkeren.
Raham of Racham (Aramees) betekent ook: barmhartig.

Tijdens de verbondsluiting in de oude bedeling werden altijd nieuwe namen aan de verbondsluiters gegeven.
De betekenis van de ה in het artikel is kabbalistisch.

De moslim zal deze betekenis vast niet aan Allah en Ibrahim geven.
