Ik heb net twee weken in Nottingham kerkdiensten meegemaakt en daar ook mee kunnen zingen met de muziek van bijvoorbeeld Keith Getty en Stuart Townsend, Veel van hun werk zoals "In Christ alone" kunnen als nieuwerwetse hymns gezien worden, net als het volgende nummer wat we zongen:

O Church Arise and put your armour on

Tatsächlich. Zoals ik ieder zondag luister naar de (een) kantate van Bach die voor de betreffende zondag geschreven is, zo heb ik vandaag eens gekozen voor Mendelssohn, en niet voor Bach. De CD is inmiddels afgelopen. Prachtig, voor mij beter dan een kathedraal vol met luitjes die "die Schlachtlieder Luthers' " uit volle borst zingen en by the way even op de katholieken neer kijken onder het motto: die hebben we even te pakken genomen. !

[net zo off-topic] Nee helaas niet. Ik zie de Eiger elke dag en kom (ook qua hoogte) vaak in de buurt; maar hij is me te moeilijk. Wandel liever, dan dat ik klim
